Objective
To obtain a position in the IT sector that will encourage and use my interest in, and experience with, a wide range of internet technologies, particularly dynamic content systems and usability.
Experience
2004–Present Temple University Philadelphia, PA
Web and Database Developer
- My primary function is the design and implementation of sites for the 55 college departments. This includes designing templates that conform to University graphic standards, followed by developing a logical layout for the department’s content, building and launching the site, then training department members on the use of Macromedia Contribute so they can keep the content up to date.
- My secondary function has been the design and implementation of an administrative database with a web based front-end. The process has included gathering data from many different sources and importing it into our database, building the logical layout of the database, and building stored procedures for database transactions. Once the foundation of that was built (information is continuously integrated) work began on building the front-end. This has included integrating authentication and authorization with the Universities existing LDAP server and meeting with representatives from the college to determine their needs and level of access needed. This process is also continuous, though several modules of the database have now been completed.
- Other duties have included the building and maintenance of an Exchange organization for the Dean’s office and third level support for the Dean and her staff for general application and networking trouble that could not be handled by the central helpdesk our the secondary technical staff.
